I am trying to convert an Access database from Access 97 to Access 2000 using the standard Access database conversion tool. I have followed the instructions I have gotten from Microsoft as well as from other websites including ensuring I am using not only a different new database name but putting it into a new folder.

The conversion utility compiles, converts and then signals 'Ready'. Upon looking for the newly converted database, however, it is nowhere to be found. A 'find' in Windows Explorer shows no new files created. So I have a utility running with no visible errors, but no resulting database.

Any ideas before the phones really start to ring?
