When converting a 3mb access 2003 database to 97 vers, the file grows to 400mb. Anyone know what the problem may be ??

lol! Well I thought I'd seen most if not all of Access's quirks, but I've never heard of that before. Something's very screwy there!

As a stab in the dark try importing all the database objects into a new 2003 mdb file and then try converting that. If that doesn't work I'd need to have a look at the database I think.

Keep me posted please - I'd love to hear the outcome.

The problem turned out to be the linked tables. There's quite a lot of them & they all got replicated, but not as links. Took them out, converted it then linked them back up. This sorted it, cheers

I'm realy curious why you want to convert back to 97. Could you tell us?

Some functionality not converted properly, wanted to go back to 97 to check it out. All seems ok now, cheers
