Posted this one in Access Forms but not getting much response so I'm trying here also, I hope it's not a breach of protocol.

I have a lookup field on a form that points to a table with two fields, Week# & WeekDate, and shows both Week# & Weekdate in the lookup box, and stores the Week#. You It makes you scroll down the lookup box and click on the week# you want, it won't allow you to key the week # and then hit Enter - it says "...not in the list..." even though it is. The form field was created by adding a combo field from the toolbox, and using the lookup wizard. I recreated the field but am experiencing the same issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a column count more than 1?
If so, did you put a size in for the first and the second?

How about limit to list should be no or yes?

How about the Control Source? Is it pointing to the right table(s)?

Maybe create the field in the table and after adding to form then change it to a combo box?

Did you make them separate tables and didn't link them?
Did you enter specific data for it to choose?

Thanks for replying, DonnaDee. I have already looked into all of the above. This combo field works as it should, with the exception that it does not allow me to just key the week number, for instance 32 and then enter or tab to the next field. If I do this, it will tell me "32 is not in the list" (but it is). I have to drop down the list with the drop-down arrow, and scroll down and highlight the week I want. Then it's perfectly happy and lets me continue on my way. This behavior, or misbehavior, didn't start until we upgraded the database from '95 to 2000. Prior to converting it, it was working fine. Actually, it only allowed me to ENTER out of the field, not Tab, if that is a clue.
