I have an access 2000 db and periodically it will just shut down without explaination. Some times I am going to a form thru the switchboard, sometimes just editing code then saving...I tried the usual compacting, compiling, rebuilding by copying all objects into a new db, Even tried upgrading to 2002.

Any ideas would be appreciated...

I had the same problem with Access 2003 (so much so that I uninstalled it and went back to 2000). I understand that with the release of Service Pack 1 for Office 2003 the product is much more stable.

I haven't experienced it with Access 2000.

I assume that you have tried re-installing Office 2000 and that all updates have been added.

Sometimes the interaction between Access, or Office, and another program on your computer, can cause problems. You might do a search of the Microsoft Knowledge Base to determine whether this is possible.

Failing that, you can try corresponding directly with Microsoft Support (good luck with that).

What I am offering isn't a solution...just thoughts.
