We can restrict call by call database access for Clients via SMI/Access Classes/ Level of Access. It works fine from the SMI - there is not Call By Call Statistics report offered.
But from Excel or Crystal it doesn’t work. Despite an restricted user logs in he can extract call by call data from database. Is there any possibility to deny also this access ?

Thanks in advance

I don't think so. The user is getting into the system and extracting what they want to see. With the canned reports, you just deny access to those types.

What ID is this person using? Did you create a Desktop session for them to establish an ID to access the data?

The User id you build in a Desktop session "should" restrict them to what tables they can access when they connect with that id/password. That was my understanding anyway. Is what you are saying that this isn't happening and just allowing them access to any level of reports gives them access to the full database?

If this is the case I would create a second step inbetween them by running your own SQL queries for just the information you want them to see. Only picking certain data from certain tables and give them access to run reports off this new database.

Hi,

Thanks for response.
I created desktop user to test the Level of Access impact on my SQL queries.
The result is really surprising for me. The thing is that there is possible to restrict everything - just except Call by Call Stats. Even if the Desktop has “ none = no access rights “ class, CbC Stats table is accessible and I can extract Call by Call data to Excel (while after login to the Client... empty SMI appeared). So it’s the reason we couldn’t create access class without CbC database access.
Then it works normally. If I add next Levels of Access to the Desktop then next tables appear and related data can be extracted.
