I have a database with 1 table.

Birds Mammals Fish Insects Person
10 4 2 17 Bob
6 0 2 5 Dean
2 2 5 6 Linda
6 4 0 14 Kim

I am trying to create a pie chart in a report so that the pie will have 4 slices total. 1 slice labelled Birds and the number 10 shows. 1 slice labelled Mammals and the number 4 shows. 1 slice labelled Fish and the number 2 shows. 1 slice labelled Insects and the number 17 shows.

Each report will be for a single employee.

I've tried the wizard but can't make any sense of it.

You can create your report with a record source displaying each unique person. Then use the Link Master/Child to filter your chart control. The chart linking sample at might help.
