Hello, Im new to Databases, with very little/no experience in the VBasic side of Access (xp)
My Macros have been converted to VB
Made an MDE file, but still want to disable the SHIFT key on startup
Ive seen various codes for the bypass shift key
And ive tried to put these into the VB Editor but i keep getting errors relating to the "Dim db As Database" statement - undefined etc WHAT AM I DOING WRONG
I need some help from basic level
which module is it placed in ?, how do i call that module ?
do i need do declare anything ?
Please Please Help. remember - i Know very little about the visual basic language.(MS Help said it could be done from a macro??? ive tried and failed)each time i press shift & open i get the DB window
Thanks In Advance

Hi

I have stopped puting the disable/enable shift keys option into my databases now, I have a little Access program that does it for you on any database you have. hat way you can not accidentally get locked out of your database. It also shows you where to place the code if you really want to have it on each database.

Hi dwlerwill,

Looks like you have what I have been looking for. I am trying to prevent users from holding the "Shift" key down while opening a MS Access database.

Thanks in Advance....

Me again, dwlerwill.....

A little confused?

Where do I put the function module coding? Looks like I create a hidden box and include the second set of coding to this to the OnClick event.

not sure where to put the function coding.

It is OK...

Dis-regard the previous message. Code works like a charm.

Thanks again for all your help
