Hi,
I have an Access database on a Win2003 server. If I try to open this db with more than 1 person I get the massage that de file could not been locked. And the second person can't open this db. Before with a Win2000 server ther was not a problem. Solution?????

The database users should have full rights on the directory where the MDB file is located in order to manage the LDB file.

Hope This Helps, PH.

...to expand on that point, Win2003 server has, for security reasons, changed the default 'Everyone' group to not having all rights to all folders as they did in previous versions.

You need to explicitly set permissions for the users who'll be using that .mdb. Preferrably, create a domain group, and give them rights to just that folder, or you can do it the easy way and give the Everyone group rights to that.
