How high will an auto number in Access 2000 go? I have a program that auto assigns Serial Numbers (using Auto Number) and it's reaching 99999, will it go beyond 100,000?

I believe autonumber is actually a long integer so your max value should be 2,147,483,647.

I found an article from Microsoft that says the maximum number for an auto increment is 2,147,483,647. Apparently it is a long integer, so if you started with negative numbers for the auto increments, you could have even more records (not that Access could really handle that many records very well).

I hope this helps.
