Hi,

we use Lotus Notes for a while to send certain files via VBA automation. The e-mail code is almost the same as discussed in thread 707-691439.
I recently realized that some people use a lotus signature, and that the text added by code appears after the signature.
These people need the signature, because the attachment and the text should be marked as confidential, but then it looks awful.

Any suggestion?
Thanks, Georges

I think that your easiest bet would be to use SMTP (is there an SMTP gateway setup on your lotus server)? Then you could build confidentiality notice into your message body, and have no signature. The only problem there is you need to dynamically set from address somehow.

I do not use lotus, and Outlook automatically eliminates the signature, so I can't help you there. My hunch is there's a way to disable it though. How you could insert it again after the text/html body is beyond me though, and probably more trouble than it's worth.

If name in the signature is really key, you could probably dynamically set that in a similar fashion to how you would set from address using SMTP. If you have a means to identify the user it would be fairly simple.

HOpe this helps,

Alex

If the users must have the signature

Thanks, Alex.
I need to find a solution from VBA, as the users have their personal preferences.

Regards, Georges

You can use SMTP through VBA. All you need is a gateway set up on the server to allow messages to be sent. Check with your IT department. If this would work for you I can post the script for generating the email.
