Hi there,

Does anyone know how to use the Shockwave Flash ActiveX Object in Access to insert a swf movie in a simple splash screen form. I'm having real difficulty finding any information about this subject in any of the VB/Access forums.

All suggestions are welcome.

Cheers: Gavin

Sounds appealing doesn't it? My advice...don't do it. I incorporated little flash files in my db to "jazz" it up. Looked and worked great on my machine. When I distributed it, I had problems because the client machines didn't have the right references. Specifically, you have to set references to "Shockwave Flash" and "Shockwave ActiveX Control". If you distribute it and your clients don't have these references set, you get errors all over the place (you'd think the flash object would simply not work...but the errors are everywhere).

I even looked at setting references with code, but it made my head hurt.[spineyes]

Not what you wanted to hear, but thats my experience.
