Access 97 vs. 2000 using VB application

We are in the process of converting all of our MS Access 97 Db's to 2000. I have a VB executable that uses an Access Db for security verification. The Db converted to 2000 just fine. When I tried to run the VB app, I got a run-time error '3343': Unrecognized database format. I am not able to recompile the VB piece because I don't have the code. Am I stuck, or is there a way around this. Thanks in advance for your help.

I think you're out of luck. The VB programmer would have to had to make reference to the Access and DAO object models. Unfortunately, 2000 uses ADO and does not install the DAO object model by default. Tyrone Lumley
