I do have a client that did had an Access 97 project that worked perfectly for over 10 years! The client migrated all his machines to Access 2003. He still have the Access 97 database but he do not have a license to run it. I already migrated most of the application for 2003 (painfull process). Do you know how could I import a report and a form that contains code into Acccess 2003 when I am getting errors on the vba modules contained on those objects? Do exist any inexpensive or free tool to convert the database into 2003 or at least to open it on 97?

Thank you

Thank you for answering. I am importing the objects into a new database (I also tried converting the database). It is code contained in forms and in Reports. Do I have to mark any reference in VB 2003 to import these objects?
Thank you

When importing the object from Access 97 into 2003 or converting an Access 97 database I get the following

An error occurred while loading 'Report_Current Consignment By Route *cost'. Do you want to continue loading the project?

I ask to contine and then I get"

The Visual Basic for Applications project in the database is corrupt.

Thank you

Have you tried just opening the mdb and converting it? I just converted an Access 97 with Access 2003 and didn't get any errors. It had some DAO code that ran fine.

It is a big system. Had thousands of code lines written by different people in different times. I think that is a compilation problem. I do no have and Access 97 licence and they do not have one anymore. When trying to convert the database it gives the same error. That is why I would like to know if there is a tool that allow you to convert and preserve the code or to compile the database without having Access 97.

Thank you

I think you need to find someone with Access 97 to open the application and compile it. You might even be able to export all of the code for later importing into 2003.

This may cost you something to have someone do this. I might be able to point you in the right direction but don't want to seem like I am soliciting work for someone else. If I had 97 still loaded somewhere, I might do the conversion for free but it isn't an option.

Try importing all object except the report giving this error it is this report that is corrupt not the program as such.
