Access 97 Problem

I have a problem with microsoft access 97.

I have a database with several tables.
One of the table has a field with a lookup function to another table. This was working OK, then suddenly this stopped and the lookup vanished.

We can go into design mode and put this back, but when we save the table it dissapears again. (Changes to column sizes do save).

Hoping somebody can help.

Off the top of my head, u can try...

1. Repair/Compact.
2. Recreating the table from scratch and then import the data via SQL Insert.
3. Create a new database and import the table.
4. Check the indexes to make sure they are all correct. Both in source and lookup tables.
