Hi guys, hope you can help me with this one. We have successfully been using an Access 97 dB on Windows 95 and 98 in a multi user environment (about 20 users max). The problem is, when users open the dB under Windows 2000 (via Access 97) their machines completely reset. I appreciate that this is a fairly open question, but does anyone now of any reason for this?

Dave

I am also having problems with Access 97 running on Windows 2000. Sorry that I don't have any solutions yet, but am working on it.

I am successfully running Access 97 on Windows 2000. I did not use the 'Microsoft Office' default install location. Instead, I installed Access 97 into a folder 'Microsoft Office97' and installed the full Office 2000 suite (including Access 2000) into a folder called 'Microsoft Office2K' as I had anticipated their would probably be some conflicts if they all tried to reside in the same place. It might be of help if you read article Q241141 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base section of their website. Or you might search further there for articles dealing with more specific problems.

We are also successfully running Access 97 front ends on windows 2000 clients. There is one major thing to watch out for explained by this link:

The link talks about nervus workstations, but the problem is not limited to just them.

We had a MAJOR problem with windows 2000 corrupting our back ends until we solve this problem!!! Mike Rohde
