I have a question I haven't been able to find the answer to.

I have many databases that I have written that people all over the company use. There is one (and ONLY ONE), however, that I'd like to place security on. I DO NOT want to make everyone in the company log into Access every time that open one of the many databases they work in every day. They already have to log into the network, mail, SAP, etc.

I only want the one database to have a mdw file associated with it. I read in a book that you can do this but then they didn't say how. Is it a switch on the exe line or something? like s:\change\change.mdb /changedb.mdw?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Try this in the command line or shortcut.

C:\<full_path>\msaccess.exe c:\change\change.mdb /wrkgrp c:\change\changedb.mdw

Make sure you change <full_path> to the correct path for Access. Terry

A note on Terry's comments.

If there are any spaces in the path names or database name, you will need to enclose it in quotes.

eg
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSAccess.exe" "C:\My Documents\MyDb.mdb" /wrkgrp "C:\My Documents\My Group.mdw"
