Access 2010 support of mdb extension

Need to know if what I heard regarding that an access database with an extension of mdb once is change in access 2010, then the database is not operational is a "true" statement.

Your feedback will be appreciated.

if you change it to an .accdb it is still fully "operationa", but cannot be opened by prior to 2007 versions. Or you can leave it in .mdb format.
