I know you have to check the box in Options; Object Designers; forms an report... etc etc.
But it still makes a macro when I create a new button.
This is a new install of Access and I checked the box after the databsa was made, so I suspect there is a flag in the file that is still set to make a marco.

Question is can I change it?

I think that's just the way it goes with the new version of Access. So, just tell it to not add any code, then manually create it - at least that's what I've been doing. So when it prompts for the whole wizard deal, I just hit cancel, and go either got the control properties, and build from the particular property I want to use, or else just type it in the vbe window.
