This is driving me mad. I have a combo box with a query in the rowsource. When the form is opened and an item is selected in the combo it just vanishes and does not go into the table. You have to repeat it a couple of times for it to stay selected. Anybody experiencing this? Thank

It "drives me mad" when someone posts a question about combo boxes but doesn't provide a single property of the combo box. It would also help if we knew for certain if there was any code associated with the combo box or form events. We don't know what you have tried in order to troubleshoot.

Help us out with providing information required to assist.

The combo is on a form which was unbound, and has no events at all other than setting focus to another combo, and making it dropdown. The combo has a rowsource query for names to be selected from. The form was completely unbound until using a textbox with combined date picker forced me to bind the textbox to a table in order for it to work. As the combo selection just dissapeared on selecting it, I bound the combo to anaother field in the underlying table thinking that might offer stability. The form is on a tab control, so I don't no if there is an issue like there used to be with flashing labels on a tab control. Thats all I can offer. I believe there was a similar combo problem in Access 2007. Thanks

I removed the combo and replaced it, my problems gone away. Corrupted control?

i EXPLAINED IT WAS UNBOUND TO BEGIN WITH, AND THEN BOUND TO SEE IF ANY CHANGE

Yes, it sounds real similiar to the 2007 issue
You have a form that contains a combo box in Office Access 2007. When the combo box loses the focus, the combo box is filled by using the background color of the form.
But this was fixed in the SP and I have not heard of it in 2010.

Thanks MajP,

Does sound a similar problem. Seems to be a few funnies in 2010, another being the use of Null, IsNull and "". Not the same as previous Access versions still trying to find my way round it. Seen quite a few instances of it being reported outside, each time a new learning curve around bugs or new methods, progress?

Thanks again

Many thanks, yes that looks a very useful site.
