I've created an Access 2007 database and implemented the ribbon. The ribbon works fine. However, if I implement the ribbon via "Access.Application.LoadCustomUI" and then exit Access, although Access exits, it continues to show up in the Task Manager and I can't open the database again until I kill the process.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

I have no experience in ribbons, but am interested in them now that you ask your question.

I found these links that might be helpful. Seems the focus is on how you exit the db. The most blunt and promising one is to use DoCmd.Quit in your exit routine found here:

Seems to be important as to whether you exit via the "Red X" or through a button.

Do you still have a lock file LDB in the file location of your database when you close the db? Deleting it will help in being able to reopen the db.

here are some other links that might help:

HTH (and good luck)

Thanks, I will look at the links a little later and get back with you. I tried docmd.quit, but that didn't work
