Hmmmm I wish I knew. Does seem a little too good. How about this item (.Net 2010)

I have an idea. Go to your bank and get a use once Visa/Mastercard and put only the amount you want to spend. This way if this site is not legit they can only get the amount on the card, e.g. ~$30.00. Then let us know how legit they are, there are some items I would be willing to pay for.

I doubt it. I've yet to see or hear of one that is. Couldn't find any info via the IP address, but looks like it's a new one... which would seem fishy to me to already have a lot of customer feedback as well.

To me, it looks like the typical software-scam site selling illegal software. If they're based in say China or India, then it'd be hard if not impossible to track or do anything about.

But yeah, if you want to give it a go, and see, go ahead. [smile]

I've not seen the "too good to be true" rule fail on this sort of website. Even the design/layout of the site is really familiar looking.

Bottom line 99% chance this is NOT a legit site

How I came to that conclusion:
Went to : Called: (800) RU-LEGIT (785-3448)

Spoke with a MS person and we looked at the site together. Found two issues, prices that are a lose to the vendor and MS does not allow downloaded software, e.g. must come in a box. They have started an investigation, but they did not take my contact information so I can not report back with more information later.

Ebay can have legitimate software but a lot of it is pirated as well. So, it is buyer beware.

Also, the one you listed, you said is ....Academic.... - The Academic copies are typically much cheaper. However, you legally have to be able to provide proof that you qualify - student ID, teacher ID, that sort of thing. eBay sellers may try to get around this at times, but you're not supposed to get academic software without qualifying as academic. You can't just say, "well, I'm taking a class online" or "I'm teaching myself." [wink]

If you are a legit student, the academic version is 79.95.
