I have recently upgraded to a 64 bit windows 7 machine. I have an
Access db which ran fine under xp but when I run it under windows 7.
The application starts:
.shows the list of tables
.will allow me to create and run a query using the query designer,
.will allow me to create a query using the query wizard, but if I try to run it, it freezes and has to be shut down
.I can open a table in designer mode but if I open a table I get only one field and the systems freezes up
.I can create a form but not a split form
When the system freezes, it creates a record locking file, about 1K in size; if I exit the system without running anything that caused the system to freeze, the record locking file isn't created.
AND YET, I have another access database from another user which runs just fine, in which I can open a table or create a query using the query wizard which runs fine and it doesn't create the record locking file.
I am not an Access user myself, though I have used it a bit, these databases are all for users that I support.
I have googled the problem and tried a few things that were suggested but there was nothing that described my exact problem and though I tried a few of the suggestions, nothing has made a difference.
If the solution is to export and reimport the database under windows 7, I'd be ahppy for that solution, but just need to know to what to export it so that the import will create a useable database.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.
Thanks
