I need to put a DB on the common drive, but only certain persons should have access. Initially , I tried maintaining a table with usernames, etc, to restrict access, but I have been told that I need to use the access security.
I have tried to use the print-out for "User-leval security wizard" but even when I simply set myself up as the only one with all groups and myself a member of each one, and only in the admin in one try. It says I do not have the correct permissions. Can anyone help?

Thank you for any and all help!

You don't specify which operating system the server runs, I'd ask your network administrator to set up a folder which only those people have access to.

Even if you apply access security to a file, it doesn't stop people copying the whole file and trying to crack or break in to the file from outside the premises.
