I am in the midst of creating a report based on a Crosstab query. The Crosstab query is based on a Union query that joins together the results of 3 subqueries. Sound complicated enough? Anytime I try to do ANYTHING in this report, even as simple as moving a field, Access moves like molasses in January. When I try to select a field to move, I have to wait about 10 seconds until I am actually able to drag the field around the report.

This is the only report in the database that has this problem. What is Access doing, running the underlying query each time I move a field? Is there any setting in Access that will help alleviate my pain? A report that would normally take me 10 minutes to do is turning into a neverending (and quite painful) task.

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide...

Well, I discovered the easy way around this issue. I just blanked out the Record Source property for the report. I'd still like to know why Access feels like it needs to make my life painful when I have a complex query behind the report.
