I have an Access 2003 front end and back end. I did not use the utility to split the database as I setup the ends fron day one.

My question is as follow: I know that the back end must be in a 'shared' mode but what about the front ends that each user has in their own desktops? Should the front end be set as exclusive or shared?

Thanks

Unless a user would open several instances of the FE on his own desktop you may safely set each FE to exclusive.

Hope This Helps, PH.
