I recently built a database in Access 2003. It has worked fine for months and still continues to on computers with Access 2003. Well, the IT department at work decided to start loading employee's computers with the free Access 2007 runtime, and for those people, one of two things happens:

1. The database will not open at all
2. The database will open, but will freeze when they try to navigate the database.

Any ideas as to the problem and a solution?

Thanks,
Joe

There's some kind of security thing with Access 2007, you have to make it a "safe location" or something. honestly, 2007 is so completely different, i would not let anyone use a db in 2007 until/unless i test it all thoroughly first. I had a nightmare--wrote a db in 2003 for use at a live auction for a non-profit: got to the site and all they had was 2007. i'd previously looked around 2007 a little bit and thought it'd be ok, but it wasn't. Couldn't figure out the easiest things on-the-fly like that, under pressure. Now I've bought 2007 and will mess with it thoroughly before attempting this again. Really--if IT won't get 2007 off of those machines, you need to hop to it and get up to speed on 2007 right away. Why did they install it? Here at my company, the give like at least a year's notice of updating major software packages like the OS or Office, so we can all test and do any necessary changes PRIOR to the release!! They are crazy as an IT team to just put a new version on machines without testing!!
