Yes, I am still using access 2003 and need assistance with an unbound combo box. I have multiple forms that I navigate through with control tabs (set as arrow keys) and when I go from form to form i want the combo box text to stay as set with each form (if I select the form as positive, i want it to stay as positive). Thanks for any help you could provide.

What do you mean by "select the form as positive"? How can a form be "positive"?

Are you suggesting you have a combo box on each of the forms that you want to have the same value?

Thanks for your reply, I am a novice at best with this and pretty much learning on the fly.

what I mean is there is a combo box in a form I have created. Inside the unbound combo box are 3 values I have typed in there. I can click on each form and set a value to this form from the combo box, but the problem is when I go to the next form, the value in the combo box doesn't remain set for each individual form. Hope this makes sense to you as it seems as clear as mud to me.

Still doesn't make sense to me since "forms" don't have "values". Controls such as text boxes and combo boxes have values.

If you close a form with unbound controls, the next time you open the form, the controls will have the default value or no value.

maybe using the wrong terminology here ...... I created a form from an access database ..... then within the form is an unbound combo box with 3 text values (positive, negative, or neutral) in it (basically a drop down for users to mark if the form was positive, negative, or neutral) I would like the value in the combo box to remain constant after the user has selected which value applies .... So if I am moving through the multiple forms, I want each value to remain as either positive, negative, or neutral.

Thanks again for taking time to help out.

If you want the value retained for the next time you open to the same record,
you need to put the field in your table. And make it a bound combo box.

If you're trying to retain the value of the combo box itself as you navigate from form to form,
try using a global variable. Set the value of the combo box in the forms open event.

Thank you for the help, thats exactly what I had to do, I added a new row to the table and made it bound it to that. Doing what I needed. Thanks again for taking your time to help.
