Hi,

I have just got a new PC and so it came with Office 2007.

All other users run Office 2003 and our main DB is in 2003.

When trying to open the db , I get my modal form login page, but as soon as I click the login button, the program just closes.

There are no error messages, no beeps, nothing.

How do I track down what this problem might be, it's just closing and I have no idea why?

Thanks,

1DMF.

don't worry I was being a complete dork!

OK , I did have the CDO 1.2.1 issue, which was resolved with the download available from MS.

but the closing no error thing.... d'oh

I wrote security into the code that the DB will not run unless the MAC address of the machine is enterered into the MAC DB table, that way the DB is locked down to only machines it's allowed to run on.

Been so long since I had a new machine to add , I forgot about my own security and couldn't work out what was going on.

Oh well, at least it shows my security is still working :)

Open the logon form in Design mode, click on "Visual Basic" under the "Database Tools" tab then find the code for the logon button and press F9 to set a breakpoint in that code. When you run the logon form the code execution will stop at the break point and you can press F8 to single step through the code.
