Access 2002 ADP performance

Hy everyone.
I'm in troubles with Access 2002 ADP and SQL server 2000. I have an ADP that:seems to be working properly as it opens the sql backend, i can see all the objects, but....to open a table or a wiew ( in datasheet view) needs about 15 minutes.I have tried from a win pro 2k client, winxp pro client with no success. No problem with Access 2000 on the same SQL DB. The DB is 3,5 GB.
SQL server is sp3
Office XP is sp2
Win xp is updated
MDAC tried are 2.5 -- 2.71
CPU is pentium 4
ram is 256 mb

After 15 minutes everything works quite fine, but......very slow.
Any secret setting to bypass this problem?

Hi, I would have a look a your queries through query anaylser, and also have a look at the indexs on the tables.
Are you running you front end locally?
