Hello:

Got a fairly simple Access 2000 Reports question, but it may not be THAT easy to solve.

What I would LIKE to do is create a FIXED width text box that AUTOMATICALLY word-wraps information so that it automatically re-sizes the HEIGHT of the box as required.

IE: Say I have a field I'm using to populate the text box. I want the box to become a bigger height if I have more information going into the box, albeit via word-wrap.

I know that this will change the spacing a bit between records, but that's not a problem.

I have limited width on the area of the report I can use to put this information in and was wondering if there was a fairly simple setting or property to affect this, or do I need to do something a bit more involved, VBAwise.

Regards,

Try setting its Can Grow property to Yes.

Thanks for the reply, did try using CanGrow, that helped a lot, but is there a way I can set a fixed width that ACTUALLY uses WordWrap?

I seem to have no way of ensuring that the width of the text box actually forces larger words down to the next line, instead some of them seem to get a bit cut off at the right hand edge of the box.

The word wrap within the box seems a bit quirky and inconsistent in the way that it works, I guess is what I'm saying.

Have you run into this sort of problem, and if so, what did you do to fix it (if possible?)

Thanks again.

It's been my experience that the text box should be as wide as the longest word it will display, otherwise it will chop up the word. So far, I haven't had the need to try to come up with some sort of smart "word-wrap algorithm".....
