I have an Access 2000 database under development with about 40 reports in it. When I close out the database, and go back into it, all of my reports are gone except one. I do not have this problem with my backup database, which I import data into. Does anyone know why this may be occuring? Thanks.

When you say the reports are gone upon db reopening, do you subsequently retrieve them from a backup, or do you recreate them from scratch?

I'm thinking that maybe those reports have their hidden property set. Do you have the database's options set to view hidden objects? (Tools, Options..., then on the View tab, check the Hidden Objects box.)

Also, you said backup db. Did you mean backend, where you are storing linked tables? If it's a backend that you created with the database splitter, all it contains are the tables to hold your data.

If it is in fact a 'backup' db, then copy it and rename it (having renamed the quirky db first to something like... dbname_BAD.mdb).

Hope this helps,

Vic

A: I import them from my backup database.

A: When I view the hidden objects, the reports are still not there. They are totally gone.

A: By backup db, I mean a COPY of the .mdb file which is a previous version that still has the reports in it.

Any help on this is appreciated.

Not quite sure what to suggest.

When you close out the database and reopen, is the report that's there always the same report?

Did you create this database from scratch, or did you inherit from another programmer? If inherited, I'm thinking the other programmer may have setup workgroups and restricted permissions.

Other than that, I've run out of ideas. [sad]
