Mysterious things that happen with access 2000... maybe someone finds this familiar.

My little access application (around 1mb size) SUDDENLY produces this error whenever I try to work on a new form:

(translated to english:) "Error while accessing the file. Maybe the network connection was disconnected."

No error number; I dont use any network connection and when this error appears, there is no file access! For example it happens when I include a new button into a form, that just displays a message box. After this error the mysterious bahavior continues: e.g. i am not able to rename ANY object (form, module): "this name already exists" - pure nonsense!!
what is going on here???

Try creating a new access database, then import everything from your old database. You could also try to repair the database.

The error also appears several times while I import all objects. It LOOKS like at a certain amount of objects access corrupts everything...

Different PC configurations dont make a difference, the error appears everywhere...

Found the reason:

Visual Studio Beta 2 installed a buggy version of vbe6.dll that will corrupt all compilations in vba. Just reinstall an older version (from office cabs) and the compilations will work fine again. But: You cant repair corrupted modules this way...
