Several times now I have had to change an import specification for a text file that I'm importing. Every time I end up having to re-key the spec. I've tried saving the existing spec as another name then adding my new columns, then saving again. I've also tried adding my new columns then saving under another name. Everything looks OK when I do the save, but when I go back to look later the columns are gone. What's that magic sequence of steps to get this to work?

Thanks

Having become all too familiar with import specs for transfer text operations, the method I use which seems to consistently work and keep the specs under the same spec name is to pick my table and then save as an exported text file. Then, clicking on advanced allows me to define my text script, assign it a name, and save same. It seems to constently work. Robert Berman
