Access 2000 Converts BIG INT to Binary

Hi,

When I link tables in Access 2000 to the MySQL 3.22 database Access treats BIG INT fields as Bin(ary). Is there any way to get Access 2000 to treat the BIGINT field as text or something comparable to BIGINT? Note that the MyODBC option of changing BIGINT to INT is not a satisfactory solution.
