Is there an easy way to convert an Access 2000 Application to an Access 97 Application?

Tools, DataBase Utilities, Convert Database, To Prior Access database version.

Obviously if you have used features of Access 2000 that do not exist in A97 there may be problems.

In practice I have found my VBA code can have broken library references as the two versions use different object libraries. Not too difficult to fix if you have A97 as you can open a module and fix the references.

In addition Office 2000 VBA has some additional commands that will fall over when you move the app backwards.

I would also test links to external tables.

Hi,

does Access 97 support the FILE / GET EXTERNAL DATA / IMPORT functionality seen in 2000? I have an Access 2000 db that I want my Access 97 users to be able to use w/o
upgrading, but the IMPORT functionality becomes unavailable when I convert to 97.

any ideas?

thanks!
Christy.
