Hi,

I'll need to develop a database w/access 2000 (at home), but it's for Access '97 users. Will there be a backwards compatability issue?

Thanks in advance!

jbelf:

Sure is. Access 2K does not play well with Access 97; the two are not compatable.

Access 2K does have a conversion tool to save a 2K database in an earlier (97) format.

It's under Tools/Database Utilities/Convert Database.

If you do not use any VBA code it should be easy and clean. If you do use coding, I would suggest setting the reference for DAO 3.6 and use DAO syntax.
