Ive seen this issue pop up in threads with XP running fast and 7 slow in this area but that isnt my issue.

I have a Win7 Pro w/ 2GB RAM with Access 07 that can run a find super fast on our database file (maybe 2-5 sec). I also have a Win7 Pro w 2GB RAM with Access 10 that runs a find in around a half minute or longer. Ive read about changing the limit with regedit but that path location isnt in my reg. Kinda at a loss for how to speed this up. Both are taking a copy off the server and pasting to their desktop before doing any work.

I seem to remember similar issues with Excel 07 versus Excel 03. Processing calculations would take much longer in 07, until we discovered the cause. The 03 Excel spreadsheets had to be converted to 07. I wonder if you make a copy of that database saving it as a new Access 10 file, if the searches would run faster. Be sure to start with a blank database and move the data over. Don't just re-save the existing file as an Access 10 version if you know what I mean.

Just a thought anyway...

Well I was kind of thinking along that line. I copied the original database file off of the 07 Access Win7 PC via USB thumb drive and took it over to the 10 Access Win7 PC. I loaded it off of the tumb drive and it seemed to work fine which I noticed it opened it in 2000 mode. I closed it out and opened the local copy on the 10 Access machine and now it seems to be running perfect. Is it possible it changed the native mode it opens in?
