Hi there,
Last night I screwed up royally. I needed to do a reformat/reinstall on my laptop, so I backed up all my data to a seperate partition and ran the recovery CD.
You can imagine how happy I was when I found out that the recovery CD deleted my 2nd partition and overwrote all of my data.
I had to spend all night doing data recovery on my precious data and was able to recover a few things.
However: Some of my data that I recovered I had encrypted using Windows XPs EFS. I've dumped those encrypted files onto one of my good machines and now I need to access it.
How can I unencrypt these files? I can recreate the account and password I was using when saving this data, but I need to know the proper way to unencrypt them. Thanks...
