Hi,

I am running apache on my WindowsXP.
I can run a perl script on this computer (e.g. But I cannot access the above server from a remote computer within a firewall.

In the past I could access the server from another computer. Last week I turned off the WindowsXP, and now I am not able to access the server.

Could someone please help me?
Thanks

But I cannot access the above server from a remote computer within a firewall.

Do you mean you can run the script when you are at the computer hosting the script but not from another computer?
Is the other computer on a network local to the apache server? Or are you trying to run it from outside the network across the internet?

Do you have a router between your internet connection and your server? If so you may have to configure the router to allow connection to the server on port 80. Look in your router configuration and see if it has a Virtual Server setup screen. This allows the router to accept requests to a specific port and then redirect them to a specific IP address on the internal network.

Any software firewalls would also have to be configured to allow the traffic both in and out from port 80 on that device as well.

I cannot help you with Apache configuration, I have only done it once myself and know little but it sounds more like the issue is with your network configuration and at least this gives you a place to look.

At my age I still learn something new every day, but I forget two others.
