Accent Colors in Fireworks

What's "Accent" colour?????

as to your second question (!! lol) you can edit images in fireworks... but to what extent depends on the type of file.
If you've created the image... then FW saves it as a png file which is edited.
However, if you get, say, a gif from somewhere else, you'll only be able to do very simple editing on it cos all the layers will have been flattened.
