Purchased a Accelar from eBay to setup a home network for training. I've read stories on here about some difficulties on resetting some of Bay's other hardware - does the same hold true with the Accelar? I'm needing to reset this to factory defaults....any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Passport 1000 Password Recovery
There is no known backdoor password for the Passport 1000 CPU modules. In order to access a CPU when the password is not known, you must factory default the box. For this reason, it is advisable to save the output from "show config" and save it to a PCMCIA card or your computer. The "show config" output will contain the passwords in plain-text format, and the config information in this file can be input back to the CPU after a factory default.
Connect to the console port on the 1297 or 1298 CPU module.
Reset the CPU.
Enter monitor mode.
Type: config sys set flags factorydefault true
Type: save config
Type: reset
Allow the CPU to completely boot to the banner login screen.
Login with the username 'rwa' and a password of 'rwa'
Type: config sys set flags factorydefault false
Type: save config
The Passport 1000 is now defaulted. If you have a previously saved file with the output from "show config," you may re-enter your config information from that fil

I tried the method listed...however after I enter:

Type: config sys set flags factorydefault true
Type: save config
Type: reset

Login: rwa
Password: ***

I get this:

Any ideas?

More info: Am I doing something wrong to get this password reset??

It says ** Loading configuration from nvram **, and therefore the configuration is not factory default.

Try "boot" instead of "reset" after the "save" command.

I've tried both the rwa/rwa and the secret/secret username/password combinations as well as the 'boot' instead of 'reset'. Maybe it isn't saving correctly?? The output is listed below as everyone can see.

THANKS FOR THE HELP EVERYONE!!

in my first post

tcaddoo comments on the above:
You have to go into monitor mode and type flags.  At this point, it will walk you through 5 questions, one of which is whether to use factory defaults or not.

are you sure you are doing this step?

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Well, to be honest. I'm not sure. I'm pressing 'any key to stop autoboot' to enter monitor> mode then entering the commands specified. (see output in previous post) Is this what you mean?
---------------------
Press any key to stop autoboot

monitor> config sys set flags factorydefault true
monitor> save config
boot configuration has been saved
ip configuration has been saved
monitor> boot

---------
Continues to boot however im never prompted for any further information. Boots to the normal Login: prompt

As Jimbo say's, just type flags.

Monitor> flags (CR)

It will respond with -
Do you want to enable autoboot (y/n) ?
Do you want to enable factory defaults (y/n) ?

Etc

Seve,
Thanks - That was exactly what I needed. I'm just not familar with bay commands yet. Worked perfectly (factory default) as well as the default passwords.

MANY THANKS to ALL!
