acccessing a switch/router through a Xeplex Terminal Server

I have a Xyplex Terminal Server setup in a lab environment. I have given the Server an IP address and I am wanting to connect to the switches and routher that are connected to the server through the console cable. I am not exactly sure on how to do this. So any help would be GREAT!!
