I have recently completed an Access 2000 project (Access Pro on a Win2000 PC). Prior to converting to Access 97 for our Acc97/WinNT users, I split the database into front-end and back-end mdb files. The application runs fine via Win2000/Acc2000, but when I try to open any table with more than zero records from the back-end DB using Acc97 and WinNT, the software generates a 3042 error (out of MS-DOS file handles). I then added a Config.sys file with Files=50. This did not resolve the problem.

If anyone can shed some light on this problem, your response will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jim Coolidge
