Hi

I've been running Acad14 with Win98 for a while now, without any problems worth mentioning. However, recently I upgraded to Win98SE and now the program doesn't work properly anymore : it starts up, but immediately shuts down again (the program screen vanishes as soon as it has been started up). I tried a new installation of both Win98SE and Acad14 (on a formatted HDD), but with the same result. Does someone have an idea if this problem is due to Win98SE, or do you know a solution?

Thanks.

You may have to re-register CAD, are in Europe and using a dongle (hardware lock)? Or USA and not using one?? Jay~

Europe, with hardware key, so that can't be the problem. I really think it has something to do with either Win98SE or a bad driver. I believe that maybe there's a Hauppage WinTV driver messing up the system. I've always been using the original drivers, but now I've installed a newer version downloaded from their site. Perhaps I should try and reinstall the old driver to see if this fixes the problem. Thanks for your post.

I removed the WinTV card from the system with a working Acad as a result. Guess I'd better reinstall the original drivers... Thanks for your help.

If you reinstall and still nothing try this...
Go to Control Panel->Display, then go the Settings Tab, in here click on Advanced, go to the Performance tab, then change the Hardware Acceleration to the opposite of what it is set to, eg, None or Full. Jay~
