AC tracer power off

I can not wait till the first of the year when Ideal offers the AC Circut Breaker Tracer that will run a cold wire. Who else makes one that will do both HOT and COLD tracing?

well for a wire thats not hot why not just use a telco tone ?

whatever you use for toneing voice and data cables

I shall try it. My minds eye shows me a problem with one leg of the circuit being common (grounded) However I would prefer to own a toner that will acomplich ALL 3

I have the older version that you can't use on live circuits , I was using to find some DB cable one day and the maintence guy at one of my sites saw it
I let him borrow it one weekend and he shut the power off to the buildings and traced out all his circits
