Absent Message on Call Waiting

On the IP Office system when you call a user who is on another call, the call recipient sees the caller trying to get through and here's a short ring when the call is initiated. However, the caller has no way of knowing the recipient is on the phone. Is there any way to setup a call waiting beep similar to what you hear when call waiting is activated though the phone company? (that way the caller could hear the break in the ring tone and know you're on another call) Or, setup the system to set your "absent text message" to display "on another call" anytime your first call appearance button is in use?
 
You could use User announcments, that would give better than just a beep :)

Can you explain how to set this up? It sounds like a good solution.
 
Quite simple really, just go to User in the User section of Manager, then select the announcments tab and turn it on, you can also customise the announcments. I should add this reliant on having VM and also being above 4.0 on the system :)

It seems like the system plays the announcements reguardless of if the user is on the phone or not. I would only want the announcements played if they are on another call. If all of their call appearance buttons are free, then the phone should ring. I want the caller to be able to tell when the call recipient is on the phone.
 
Change the time until first announcment to allow them time to answer when free :)

This gets us halfway there but the main objective is to have some sort of different behavior, viewable or audible by the caller to let them know that the person their calling is on another call instead of just not being there at all.
 
Turn off call waiting for all users. Create a collective call waiting hunt group for each user. Add this matching hunt group as the breakout option 3 for each user. If the user is on the phone the call will go directly to VM and you know they are on the phone. If you still want to ring them just press 3 when you get their VM.
