I have a appache server running on win2000,

my sites are up I have 3 of them but the problem is that once I create the site to be accessed with out the www, example: zoootsrecords.com instead of the server point the clients to the first virtual host setup in appache.

so basicly the first virtual host is the only one that is pointing to the correct website with and without the www.

but the other 2 domains go to the site with www. but without it it point to the first domain.

you can view what I am talking about at:

virtualhost #1 is: or avccheerleaders.com

virtualhost #2 is: but when goin to zoootsrecords.com it takes you to
does anybody know why this is happening?

Thanks in advance
Max

I'm not running Windows with apache, but I know I had a similar problem on my linux box. What I was missing was in the host file (the file that tells the computer what domains the machine accepts) I did not have averything in there. If you need a sample of my host file I could dig it up but basically you should have the address with the various domain names. (ie: 192.168.0.100 yourdomain.com *.yourdomain.com)
Basically what ever will be coming in should be listed there.

This is probably not gonna be too much help cause I don;t have code on hand but here goes anyway.

1)Make sure that Virtualnamedhosts is uncommented in httpd.conf
2)Make sure you have both virtual hosts defined in httpd.conf and that they point to seperate files that exist and have sufficient permissions to be updated by developers and accessed by the public.
3)Make sure that the host file is current to your changes
i.e. 192.168.0.1 boxname vhost1 vhost2 vhost3 etc...
This is if only you're machine is accessing the sites.
Even if this is not the case it is a good place to start.
4)Make sure the relevant DNS servers are pointing to your server.

I hope this helps, went through this whole process today.

I don't know how you keep from putting your head thru the wall, Wullie. You've been one of the most helpful people here, yet it seems one of the most unappreciated at times. I know you bailed me out more than once. Thanks for all your help.
