hi,
ive been working on a databse for my work. i am pretty much finsihed with it and am about to convert it to an mde file. once i do that, is there a way that if something needs to be fixed that i can convert it back to a regular database file or is it done for once i convert it?

ALWAYS backup the MDB before converting it to MDE as the process is irreversible.

Hope This Helps, PH.

so if i convert to mde and then everyone starts using it and putting in information and then a couple weeks down the line i find a bug in my database and want to fix it, is there a way that i can extract the information from the mde file so that it all doesnt have to be typed in again or does my database basically have to be bug free?

Consider splitting the database with the BackEnd having data only and the FrontEnd all the rest + linked tables.
Then convert only the FE from MDB to MDE.

You might look into splitting your database first. That way if you need to make changes to your forms and reports, you can replace the front end when convenient without taking the data off line.
