what can actually be done with slices? if i want to put some graphics in to dreamweaver, i still have to put every slice one after another. so what are the advantages of using slices? thanks for your explanation.

A lot of designers start off by putting web layouts together in programs such as Illustrator or Photoshop, to quickly give their clients an idea of how it will look. When they begin to work on the real web page, they might use slices to isolate the text, for example, and then export the whole thing to a HTML file. This is where Dreamweaver takes over, importing the complete HTML file, and making the necessary alterations. That's just one use of slices, I'm sure there are many more!

My brother is NOT an artist. But he can do some awesome schtuff with my graphics. He perfers I just slice up my pages and hand him a screen shot and a folder full of images. Use them mainly for cutting out the buttons so you can do animated rollovers. BEHOLD! As Steve Jobs introduces us the latest in desk-lamp technology!
