Hi,folks
M$'s MTS/COM+ is a high performance, component based application server under which you can develop multi-tier application easily.
I am surprise there doesnot exist correspoinding part on linux. Maybe i am wrong !

Any suggestions are appreciated! I want to migrate to Canada or Australia. Any relative information you supplied will be appreciated!

I don't think there is (or possibly ever will be ?) anything that works exactly like MTS/COM+ for the Linux/Unix market, (integration of operating system and applications) since we Unixers tend to like knowing what's under the hood of our applications, and we don't like to use one solution for everything. Also, Unix tends to make it easier for developers to glue apps together because of it's architecture.

- Often Unix people developing multi-tier, ERP, etc... tend to gravitate towards Java as a way to glue everything together. Java has an advantage on Unix of being able to pool resources, maintain persistent database connections, etc... Which gives it a performance advantage over the traditional Perl.

- But anyone who says Perl doesn't have enough "middleware" type modules to to just about ANYTHING, haven't browsed the Perl modules at

Hopefully as more and more application vendors and programmers start seeing that there is a level ABOVE MTS/COM+ available, whereby all architectures and systems can communicate well, we will see more acceptance of open standards such as CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) and OMA (Object Management Architecture). See for details.

This just might make everyone's job a little easier :)

Thank you for quick response!
But i think java application server's performance is not good compared with native code applcation server.

Maybe i need to delve into java ^_^

Regards! I want to migrate to Canada or Australia. Any relative information you supplied will be appreciated!
